TRANSITION History
During the tour of the curators through Belgium and China, the concept of "Transition" led to discussions about the artistic life and identity of the artist in the changing economic and philosophical realities in Western and Eastern societies. Raf De Smedt and Manyu Zhang found several artists with long experience of life who accepted the challenge to engage upon this issue in a new work.

Concept
This project invited 12 Belgian and 12 Chinese reknown artists, above 60, to create a work in which they confront their past and present expectations and ideas with the transience of life.

Dates and Locations
The venues for this exhibition are not accidentally located in the residence of the curators. Next to internationalism Over the Hedge also aims at an integration within the local region. Thus, real contacts and insights into the cultural reality are gained.
